Located along Highway 40, this major renovation transforms an existing building through the comprehensive requalification of its envelope and site. The intervention introduces a contemporary and distinctive architectural expression while establishing a cohesive language across its industrial, commercial, administrative, and recreational uses.
The ground floor is reconfigured to accommodate flexible, highly glazed commercial spaces. On the upper level, adaptable office spaces and a recreational centre enrich the program and contribute to a diversity of uses within the building.
The intervention extends beyond the architecture through a reconfiguration of the parking areas and landscape design, improving universal accessibility, circulation, and the integration of electric vehicle charging stations. A renewed planting strategy softens the site’s hardscape while guiding movement across the site.
Through the creation of a shared architectural language, the requalification of its uses, and the transformation of its exterior spaces, the project reveals the potential of the existing building and establishes a renewed architectural identity within Montréal’s East End landscape.
